Tips to avoid being scammed

Constantly be aware of the address bar that is located at the top pf your internet browser. “HTTPS” is a good sign that a webpage is secure. Even if an -email says “Click here” to get to eBay- check the address bar. Does it say http://www.ebay.com/whateverelse ? By the way, eBay will verify bad e-mail for you if you forward it to spoof@ebay.com.

Use a credit card rather than a debit car for online shopping. Most credit cards limit your liability at $50, whereas there may not be a cap with a debit card. Debit cards can be viewed as anopen invitation to your entire bank account.

Dedicate one credit card for online shopping only. It will be easy to keep track of purchases — and unauthorized purchases.
